My Story

Where It Started

I began my career as an engineer, trained in chemical engineering, and later specialized in water treatment through postgraduate studies in the UK. I didn’t set out to become a CEO. I set out to solve problems. But early in my career, I learned that the hardest problems were never technical — they were about people, trust, and decision-making under pressure.

Learning to Lead

My path took me through some of Saudi Arabia’s most significant national infrastructure institutions before I stepped into the role of CEO at a major water-sector partnership company. Leading that organization meant building an entire private-sector market from scratch — negotiating with global investors, restructuring how public and private sectors collaborate, and making decisions that would affect millions of people, often with incomplete information and real deadlines.

I share this not because water infrastructure is the focus of my consulting work — it isn’t — but because it’s the proving ground where I learned the leadership principles I now teach: how to build trust across cultures and industries, how to make high-stakes calls without certainty, how to develop people faster than the job requires, and how to stay grounded when everything is moving at once.

The Challenges That Shaped Me

Leadership rarely feels like the highlight reel. Some of the moments that taught me the most were the ones that didn’t go as planned — projects that stalled, partnerships that had to be rebuilt, decisions I got wrong before I got them right. I talk openly about these in my mentoring sessions, because I believe the “how I recovered” is more useful than the “how I succeeded.

Why I Mentor and Consult Today

I started informally mentoring younger colleagues years before I ever called it “coaching.” Watching someone move from uncertainty to confidence — in a single conversation, sometimes — is what led me to open this part of my work to a wider group of leaders, managers, and professionals outside my own organization.

Today, I split my time between running a major organization and helping other leaders do the same, in whatever industry they’re in.
